Our Founders began Little Witch Studios in 2021 with the goal to help those considered “neurodiverse” through art to overcome their anxieties and express their unique thought processes creatively.
Kyle Shelton
Born and raised in the Portland area (and never planning to leave!), Kyle Shelton is a creative force to be reckoned with. An origami extraordinaire, doodler, stencil visionary, and all-around artistic powerhouse, Kyle has a knack for transforming everyday materials into breathtaking works of art. Whether it’s meticulously folded paper creatures, bold stencil designs, or impromptu sketches that capture the imagination, his creativity knows no bounds.
Kyle’s work has been featured in the PDX Winter Light Festival, where his debut origami installation, “The Octopus Garden,” wowed audiences with its glowing undersea world crafted from a mix of new and upcycled materials. His passion for sustainability often shines through in his art, proving that discarded materials can be beautiful, thought-provoking, and inspiring.
When he’s not bringing his artistic visions to life, Kyle is a proud stay-at-home dad and an off-the-cuff joke expert. A true creative wizard, Kyle makes magic in every medium he touches.

Tre Roberts

#Empathic, #Neurodivergent and consequently #Disabled, Tre dropped out of the Texas art world in the ‘90s to chase white water from Central to NE USA, with recurring time-outs in New Mexico’s Land of Enchantment & Entrapment.
Zee dropped back in via Cascadian utopian politics in 2012, engaging in street & performance art supporting indigenous, environmental & survival issues. View Tre’s personal portfolio at treroberts.com
Little Witch manifested unexpectedly during a 2015 sabbatical and demanded an increasingly more internal gaze, dropped several houses on the artist’s head to get zer attention, and is herding zer in directions unknown, all topsy turvy, falling slo-mo down its vortex.
Little Witch follows zer own golden brick road on a Hero’s Journey to collaborate with zer audience via the Little Witch Coloring Book. Tre is following along, obsessed, or possessed, trying to keep up and founding a collaborative studio in the process.
Come play. Bring your archetypes & art supplies. Please don’t color politely in the lines.

Taffney Nichols
Taffney is a Founding Member and Maker of Stuff and Nonsense at Little Witch Studio. She has the stuff that dreams are made of, though she cannot always see them yet with third eye blind.
Like most unicorns, her background is varied and colorful. She’s been a smiling face stirring retail & service cauldrons, a shoulder to cry on, an educating voice in animal husbandry & veterinary care. She’s been a rock, a soft place to land, a cheerleader, wife, mother, sister and daughter. Most recently, her path includes sitting with people’s pets (www.rover.com/members/taffney-n) and unexpectedly finding herself positioned as a fresh and vibrant voice in our Studio.
What does Taffney’s future hold? She’s been following that trail of crumbs so long… from Texas to New Mexico to Cascadia at last.
Here Taf met a ginger cat who led her purring to a ginger house with candy trimmings. What will she find within? A spell to end the path of breadcrumbs and weave a settled life that’s rich and full?
First she must fulfill the tasks Little Witch has set for her.
With every setback and each success her spell is woven.
So mote it be.

Rachel is a Jane-of-all-trades and master of some. Her passion for community-building combined with experience in business and nonprofit management (add a dash of scrappy start-up skills and perseverance) makes her the go-to team member to design and launch a website, format media for printing, and strategize business models. When she isn’t collapsed on the floor from juggling all of the things, she’s exploring OMSI or one of Portland’s many beautiful parks with her husband and two awesome kids.
